About Us
I am a nationally Certified Pet Dog Trainer
(CPDT) and instruct dog training classes in my private
training facility, an instructor and lifetime member of
Merrimac Dog Training Club, a Board Director for Langley
Kennel Club (all-breed), professional groomer, Vellus distributor,
Tatoo-A-Pet authorized agent, Vice President of the Tidelands
Poodle Club/2009 Specialty Show Chair and an active member
of the Papillon
Club of America.
| When I joined the
Langley KC in 1996, I was a true novice exhibitor
in an all-breed club with members full of wisdom
and experience in the world of breeding quality showdogs
and winning in the conformation ring. I barely knew
what a pedigree was, much less how to read (and breed)
to produce great dogs. Having just acquired my first
show prospect Papillon (AKC
Ch. Heavensent Gizmo, OA, NAJ), I wanted to
do everything with her … put
titles at both ends of her name.
My experience prior
to that was campaigning toy poodles and a sheltie
in obedience, agility and therapy work…but,
then I worked full time with the government and
traveled a lot. After my retirement in 1998, I
literally ran with the dogs. |

Today,
thanks primarily to my Langley friends and the
many opportunities I’ve had to become actively
involved with the sport of purebred dogs, I’ve
achieved some success, exceeded many goals and
collected valuable memories that will last a lifetime.
I have gained experience as an all-breed show chair,
specialty show chair, obedience/agility trial chair
and currently the Langley Member Education and
Programs Chair. I devote many volunteer hours to
those responsibilities and in doing so, I learn
something new or meet someone new every day. I
share the training philosophy and my training facility
with my two friends who are also Certified Pet
Dog Trainers: Marilyn Sanders (Pugs) and Meg Lockwood
( Norfolk
Terrier & Pugs). I co-own Nike’s
litter sister (AKC Ch Heavensent Reebok) with Sharon
Potter. I share my knowledge, experiences and genepool
with my showring and training buddies Shirley Hardee,
Karen King and Sharon Potter as we continue to
strive for excellence to improve the breed with
occasional litters. My friend, Carol Minter, owns
one of my Papillons (Heavensent Fast and Furious,
RA, OAJ, OA…call name Skills)
and is an agility and manners instructor for All
Dogs Playskool in Richmond, VA. Please take a
